Honour Village Cambodia

Honour Village Cambodia is a children's village and a registered Cambodian and UK charity making a huge difference in the lives of its children and community near Siem Reap, Cambodia. Come and volunteer! http://honourvillagecambodia.org.

Another place working to change the lives of children is Hope Of Children near Battambang, a town a few hours from Siem Reap.

Please note that these two organizations are not linked in any way.  You should research any organization thoroughly before volunteering or raising funds and be satisfied that your time or money will be used for the benefit of the children.

Learn

Over 200 children die every day in Cambodia, and 1 in 7 die before the age of five. Why? What can be done?   The concertcambodia.org website has information about the causes of poverty in Cambodia and good advice about poverty tourism and orphanage scams.

We have links to blogs and other great resources.

Here's a great blog from Jess Scott from the University of Bristol, a colleague of Jessye Sutton's who is also doing an internship in dentistry at Angkor Hospital For Children in Siem Reap.

HELP!

LET'S

“I was so impressed by the way this group of young people cared for and supported each other during work and play. It was a joy to be with them and share part of an experience I know they will never forget. They can all be very proud of what they achieved this summer.”

Jo Fahey

“What impressed me was the atmosphere in the village. Given that there is so much change with different volunteers coming in and out the kids had clearly adapted and there seemed to a very positive and enthusiastic learning environment. I also liked the fact that older children took on responsibility for the younger ones and for themselves.”

Kate Nolan

Look - no fillings!

In the summer of 2012, a team of friends, mostly ex-students from the British School Al Khubairat, now studying in the UK and Canada, volunteered with the children in Honour Village Cambodia, near Siem Reap. We had a ball!
